Thorttle response delay problem

Hey everyone, troubleshoot time.

I Just put my full exhaust on and when i nail the throttle it has a 3-5 second delay before it really goes. It brings the rpms up a little but there is just that long delay. Any ideas, needs more fuel pressure maybe?

Increasing the fuel pressure should help a little, but you really need a custom PROM. The stock tune just can't handle much more than an open element, let alone full exhaust.

do you have an auto or a manual? 3-5 seconds is a long time... im assuming auto, it might be time for a rebuild your trans is slipping

You may want to play with your fuel pressure and base timing. Those should help take away some lag caused by headers. Chip work will correct all problems that some people see with headers. A full exhaust can change the volumetric efficiency on these cars up to 10% which will in turn throw off the stock tune.

Trans grabs just fine, its just a problem like, with the engine pull kicking in... i was thinkin more fuel at a minimum, gettin into chip burning soon anyway.
