dual to single stud for air cleaner?
I was wondering how to convert the b-body dual stud to a single stud for the intake mounting since I'm going with an aftermarket intake setup. EDL-4222 to be exact.

I'm not really familiar with the B-bodies, but do they use the same dual studs like the trucks do (air cleaner studs screw on top of the 2 rear TBI unit mounting bolts)?
If so, it really shouldn't be too hard at all. All you need to do is get rid of the rear air cleaner studs and just replace those with regular bolts. Then just install the curved single air cleaner stud. Any local junkyard should have those bolts and air cleaner stud. Just look for 88-92 V8 TBI F-Bodies, 87-95 V8 TBI single stud full-size trucks, and 87-93 V6 TBI S-10s and Blazers for the parts.
I'm pretty sure all TBI units are drilled and taped for the single stud air cleaners, but I could be mistaken.
You can see where the single stud goes into the TBI unit in this picture:

Here's a picture of the air cleaner stud to look for (disregard the fuel line fittings):

Its the same as the trucks, I'll look at it and see if I can just get one of those center studs from somewhere and if its already drilled for it.

Not sure how much height you need, but just in case you didn't already know, the single air cleaner studs on the trucks are quite a bit higher than the F-Body ones.

alright, so now I need to find just an f-body one, that narrows the search down quite a bit, I may have some difficulty finding one now. anyone have one lying around that they're will to sell?

I just went and took the air cleaner off, it looks like it does indeed have the hole that the camaros use. I'm going to be ordering some stuff from a TBI place in Austin, I'll see if they have any kicking around that they would be willing to throw in.

the stud is a bit long for a 2 1/2" air cleaner so I had to shorten it, I'll probably need a new stud when I get a hood scoop and a monster size air cleaner

Well I was going to take a picture but I figured everyone would harass me for having a dirty engine. I'll get pics posted anyways.

Looks pretty good.
I didn't think a triangular air cleaner would look good, but I was mistaken. If you don't mind me asking, how's the spark plug access? It looks a lot better than what us F-Body guys get.

Spark plug access is a lot better than f-body, I've done tune-ups to both as my first car was an 83 camaro.
I've thought about getting the whole rod thing but this was easier for now. Might still end up getting one though.
