Holley TBI or Factory

The TBI unit I just removed from an '88 I was parting out has the Holley name on it (Molded in the unit), did Holley make these for the factory or did I score a ProJection unit???

It sounds like you scored a projection unit? What size bores does it have? Do you have a pic? Did it appear that the IAC or anything else had been wired/tampered with?

The stockers are Rochester units and have 1 11/16" bores.

I'll have to measure the bores... I can snap a shot here in a bit.. most of the wiring was a mess and I just unplugged everything as I pulled the motor to use for a CMC (Camaro Mustang Challenge) race car....

Just looking at Summit and Holley's web pages it looks as though this is a direct replacement unit... still though it goes for $360.00 at Summit!!

It is far from a direct replacement unit but it can be used with the right measures taken. Most of the Holley units are 2" and are too large for even fairly modded 305's and 350's.

So it can be used on a 350?? I have a 4x4 Blazer that I wanted to convert to TBI, due to extreme angles, and also have quite a few co 4x'ers that are always looking to convert....

oops wrong button

It can be used on a 350. Depending on how much power it makes it may not be needed. You will really need to burn your own chips to dial it in properly.

WQell I would need a computer (have one from the '88) wiring harness and all the sensors... maybe I'll stick with the Edelbrock I have on there now.... It runs great... well time to list this TBI unit in the "For Sale" section.. is it worth much??

Do you have a picture of it to varify its authenticity? I would see if you can find out what injectors are on it. Holley has a lot of history, some good some bad, with its injectors. Those units also come with many different ones.

Some pics or measurements would definetely be nice. Holley did make stock tbi's but not for chevy. My father's old dodge ram has a factory holley tbi, though it is much different than the aftermarket 670 unit, as the bores are obviously smaller and the injectors are much deeper into the bores. And of course it has the pos old style injectors.

I think holley supplied dodge with their throttle bodies in the 90s and what not, seeing as my Acclaim had a Holley TB, and i really doubt someone would toss an aftermarket one on a damn sedan like that I have a feeling you may have a stock replacement, or a factory trashbin part on your car.

Then again, im not too sure of this information so dont quote me on this
