changed fuel pump, still won't spray? need help ASAP
on TaTurbo's 82 Z 28 Crossfire.
injectors wouldn't spray, checked fuses, couldn't here the pump run, replaced pump, can hear it run, but no spray at the injectors? could it be a clogged fuel filter? car has 45,000 miles, and there was a little crap in the tank.

I know that I have a fuel pump relay on my suburban that is a tbi and I have a fuel pump fuse on my camaro that is on the passenger side fenderwell. If you do a search I remember seeing pics of it on here some where. I think that it was shiftycapone that put it up for a few dudes a while ago.

You will likely need to check for flow at several places along the line (not fun, i have done this before....)
It will probably help to have a friend help with this, get a good bucket to collect any fuel that comes out. Start close to the tank (easiest way here, is to disconnect the rubber line that is the pressure line.) make sure that your new pump is actualy getting fuel up and out of the tank. have a friend turn the car on (do not try to start it), if the pump is functioning properly, it will pump some fuel out. If it doesn't, you pump is likely the problem, if it does, you get to start looking for clogged lines. The next place I would check, is the very front of the system (this will eleminate the injectors, or pick-up sensor as the problem). Disconnect the fuel line form the throttle body, same procedure, let the system prime, you should get fuel flow out of the feed line, if you do not, the clog is somewhere between pump and the point you do not get fuel, you will need to start tracing the fuel line back. This is pretty straight foward.
If you DO get fuel at where the feed line enters the TB, you can check and make sure you are getting some on the return side (you should, as chances that the clog is actualy in the TBI unit, is unlikly.) In which case either you injectors are not firing, or they are not being told to fire. This is where a noid light would be very handy, as you can check to see if they are getting a signal to fire. The pick-up sensor in the dizzy is the most likely cause, as probably the first place to check.

vic_v8,
I think you need to check to see if your plugs are firing. If not then go to the dist. and start checking there. I would pull up "need help asap" by bwidner1 in TBI, he has the same problem follow along with the trouble shooting that has been sent to him maybe there is something there that will help you with your problem.
Good luck.
