Fuelpressure issue again

Hi!

I want to get more fuelpressure and my target is about 20psi.

I have new external fuelpressurereugulator and pressuregauge.
I have removed orginal regulator. Pump ( Carter P7400) and fuelfilters are new. I still can't get over 14psi no matter what I do. Is it impossible to achieve over 15 psi with orginal pump?

Thanks!

Yes. You need a higher capacity fuel pump. The stock units are only designed to flow 12 yo 15 spi of fuel on a stock (low pressure TBI system) motor through stock fuel lines. Why do you need a fuel pressure increase? Are you tuning the car via the PROM to necessitate this change? If so you will need to upgrade to a TPI or Walbro pump.

The TPI and TBI pumps are interchangable. I would look at a Walbro pump. They are more relaible than GM pumps and typically cheaper.

Go to your local traditional auto parts store (CARQUEST, NAPA)
and look through there fuel pump book, they will have pictures and specs. That is what I did anyway.
