Tbi Spacer?
I have about $40 on a giftcard for summit and was thinking about getting a tbi spacer..my only concern is hood clearance I have done the open element mod and have a 14" by 3" air cleaner now...if i get the spacer will i be defeating the purpose because i will have to get a shorter filter or will it fit.and will there be any benefit to it..Im getting a throttle body from a guy on here and am going to do the tbi mods on it..i dont have the money to get a cowl hood right now and dont want to cut my stock hood so does anyone have any suggestions for me...thanks

You should not have any problems with just one.Is it a camro or firebird?Do you have a non drop air filter? The spacer can be made out of plastic cheaper than buying one.You can do a search to get that info

Save that $40 and buy an LT1 cam. Set it aside until you have the rest of the swap parts. You will get more from that than the spacer. TBI spacers in theory are a good thing. They increase plenum volume which is what you want. Howver, that increase in volume is little and it comes at a cost. Taller than 1/2" spacers give you troubles with throttle linkage and hood clearance. It just isn't worth it to me. I hate my spacer because I spent too much on it and it did zilch for my butt dyno. I would only run a spacer as a means to squeeze out every last bit of power. It can also be used to tune and dial in a specific combo. It would be neat to properly implement one and log track times to see if it aids any.
