Cleaning Intake Manifold??

Hello all. By cleaning the intake manifold inside and out, getting rid of all that build up, will this take away my EGR problems. I replaced my egr with the dealerships one about a few months ago and im still getting the check engine light on the free way. I hate this crap man. I also replaced the silinoed too. should i also change my o2 sensor?? Its a bosh and it was changed about 2 years ago.. thanks

Comon guys, I did the search and i know that bosh isnt good just need to clarify it. And i know that some of you have cleanded out your intakes one time or another. I just need some direction.

What's bosh? I'm not poking fun at you, but I think you're saying Bosch. I couldn't understand what you meant when you said bosh.

Also, what code is it throwing? Are you running too rich? Does your car bog? It might not be your EGR that's acting up. I thought I had EGR problems, cleaned out the manifold, cleaned out the EGR, replaced every damn sensor, and it turned out that I had a vaccum leak. Check your vaccum lines

And also, I think your O2 Sensor should be fine. Usually they last longer than 2 years.

thanks for the reply bro, I just did some troublshooting last night cause i finally got a hand held vacuum pump. It turned out to be a bad EGR silinoied. I went for a test drive and light hasnt came on yet. I heard that the bosch O2 sensors arent that good? I think im running rich cause of that sulfur smell out my exhaust. I had a new cat put in about 5 months ago.

With tbi unit removed look to the rear of the throttle bores and down a quarter inch or so....there are two small ports for the egr.
Mine were so plugged i used sea foam and small picks to clean out the ports...of course with the intake removed and it took 3 hours or so to do it. Sometimes you can take the mainfold to a local machine shop and have them throw it in there parts cleaning tank for a small fee but it doesn't allways remove all of the obstruction.

Id definatly say your running rich. This will also destroy the cat in short order. The sulpher smell indicates very high temperatures being generated in the cat. Bosch O2s arnt that great, but they work. I have them on several cars, and they produce no noticable difference (better or worse) over the stock units theyve replaced.

What else does the car do? Does it idle poorly? Any other codes from the computer?

Well the car idles ok nothing to bad, but i have notice that when im in a gear the idle seems a little bit rough.. I just changed the EGR solenoid and nothing still. I cant put my finger on it. I cant see why im running rich... Maybe i got a leaky injector?? Thanks guys for the responce. And the only code i get is the stupid code 32 Do you think my CTS is making it do that, making the computer think its cold?
