Which manifold for my setup?

Not sure what I should go with for this. Will have stock heads, bigger tb and injectors a 213/219 112lsa cam with about .470 max lift, headers and duals. Not sure if I should go with a single or dual plane manifold and more specifically what brand. Don't need an egr port I took that off. Oh and its a 350 and this will be the end of my performance mods to the car until the new engine.

id look into a dual plane it gives overall good power through the band

You have a whale Bcar so that means you have the large-flange distributor that mates ONLY with the large-flange-distributor-opening TBI manifold used only on 91-93 B platform cars.

If you buy any aftermarket intake manifold, the stock distrib won't fit because the hole for it will be too small. You could have the hole machined to a larger size by a shop. There are at least 1-2 threads here on TGO that I posted on discussing this and why the Bcars got the large flange distrib/manifold pair, and it all has to do with installation/removal under the cowl overhang. The Naisso board also has similar threads if you search for them.

So again like cam choices, IMO, save your real money for the 383. Port the stock Bcar intake manifold and use it. Fast355 has had several good experiences with modified TBI engines and he's used the stock TBI manifold for some of them. The Bcar intake and the Fcar & trucks TBI intake manifolds don't seem to differ much in the plenum and airflow path, so you should be able to do as well as he did. HTH.

I know all about the distributor problems on the b-cars, I planned on just getting it machined. Was thinking I might go with a AFR manifold and have them bore out the hole before they send it. So you think I should go with a dual plane? My manifold has to come off anyways (seal is blown leaking oil down the backside) so I figure why not just get a new one, with the year and a half wait (maybe longer) on my blown 383 I'll get my moneys worth out of the few mods I'm going to be doing to it right now.

with TBI, I prefer using a single plane manifold. Since TBI is no reliant on a stong vac signal, the larger plenum size of the single planes, is a big plus.

Besides the AFR manifold the only one I found that looked appealing was the weiand 8024, whats your thoughts on this one?

I may just end up doing this, seems cheaper and easier. Most of the manifolds I looked at don't seem like they could handle the distributor hole being bored out much without severely weakening it.

A lot of the tests that Car Craft and Hotrod do favor the Performer RPM Air-gap over all of the other manifold designs. I've heard some people on this board say that it'll have trouble with fuel ionization, but have yet to see any hard evidence of it.

carbs are a bit different I don't see how they have such a problem since they're so closely related to TBI but I'd rather not risk it, the air gaps are a much more expensive manifold

concerning 'dual-plane' manifolds,

the fundamental purpose of a dual-plane is to
help out a carb, at low rpm.

since TBI does not need venturi vacuum to pull fuel,
dual-plane is less of an issue,

although they obviously still work for TBI

I think I may end up doing a carb manifold after all seeing how I would have to do machine work no matter which way I go with it. What do you think of the weiand 7546?
