Benefiets of VSS

What gains do I get from a VSS?
I don't have one and am wondering what role it plays in the FI programming.
Thanks
Darrell

The VSS (Vehcile Speed Sensor) is a fuel cut-off feature to limit the top speed of a vehicle. Top speed was mostly determined by tire type.

My VSS controls my speedometer, cruise control, torque converter lock up and fuel cut-off. So I guess for me tc lockup and speed limiting. For me its more of a PITA than anything, one of the wires in the system is loose or something and my TC won't stay locked up because the speed being sent to the ECM is crazy and doesn't stay in one spot.
