I've heard from a few people when you get real serious with modding tbi you should convert to a carb. Would that help me any or is it a waste of time and money.

What are your power goals and intended use for the car? If you have around 300 hp and use the car as a daily driver than staying with TBI is the way to go.

Im gonna be using this as an almost daily driver and a weekend dragstripper. If I did go with the carb setup, which kind should I get 2 barrel or 4 barrel? And a small block intake with a carb setup or what? thanks

I would keep TBI then. TBI will yeild better throttle response (during cold starts), fuel mileage, and the ability to read trouble codes. With the prices of fuel I would not use a carb'd car as a daily driver.

If it's a daily then you should leave it mainly stock (except tuning and bolt-ons like exhaust) IMO...

If it's not a daily then you know you will never be happy with your level of power. With that said, ditch it for a carb.

I pulled 20 mpg with a 355 carbed, worked heads, single plane, .488 lift cam, carb and 3.73 gears out back...

FI kicks *** but TBI and big numbers are like oil and water - they don't mix

If your car will ever see a drag strip don't even look at a 2bbl, unless you happen to be looking at 3 at the same time. I'm not sure what you meant by the small block intake question, but if you are running a small block engine then you are pretty much limiting yourself to a small block intake. A lot of people will probably steer you towards a carb, but if you browse around here you will find plenty of people that have had much success with TBI. I am personally looking forward to tinkering with mine.
