Best Engine to swap?

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this topic but I am considering putting a GM Crate motor into my Camaro.. I currently have a 305 tbi.. I have people who can swap the engine for me since I don't have the experience. But what are the things i should consider? Here is the crate motor i am wanting to purchase.. Is it to big of a hassle or to expensive to put in? Or is it cheaper just to build up my 305?

290HP / 350 Long Block Pre-Emissions GM Crate Engine :: 12499529 - SDPC

or something like this?

I would go with the second choice but unless you plan to ditch TBI and go carb save a few bucks and just get the standard version. From what I've read in several posts on this site TBI can feed this engine. Just plan on some funds being spent on programming and a few upgrades to the TBI and fuel system.

just take your time and research it alot, you dont want to be unhappy with that expensive of investment.

You can come across 330 hp for cheaper than $4500, ill tell you that much right now.

That, and if you leave your heritage all original, it will be worth ALOT of money some day.

I'm not sure if you're in it for that long of a haul though.
