Cleaning Injectors

Well Since I am pushing alot mor air through my engine, I need my injectors to be up to par with my combo. I know that the are supposed to spit like an upside down cone. My left side injector seems to be fine, but my right side one does not seem to do as well. What can I do to clean them out and make them inject like new? The car has upwards of 200,000 miles and it would be cool to gain back some lost power. Thanks guys.

Shifty is on vacation and it usually takes as long as 24-36 hours to get a reply from the experts on this (not me).

I'm curious about this too but know an answer/opinion will materialize soon.

It may be that the filter screen is clogged. If it is, a rebuild kit (about $35) has the screens, o-rings, and gaskets. Other options are to grab a set of injectors from a recycle yard (305's are easy to find), use some Techron in the tank, or pull them out and send them to a professional cleaning service.

If an injector drips while there is fuel pressure and the engine isn't running, it is a good possibility that an o-ring is bad.

RBob.

down here in dallas theres a place called Quality Carbeuration they will pressure test flow match and clean the injectors but u got to take them off and take them there look in the yellow pages for a carb shop or fuel injection shop. i was gonna get mine cleaned cause they were more of a drip than a spray but when i took them down there he just laughed cause they werent even the same injector lol completly different. so i just bought a new set :P and all hose fuel injector cleaners..... garbage they dont do squat the only way to clean them is with the chemicals they use at a carb shop.

The cleaners may not clean the inj like a carb shop would but they do a great job of cleaning the fuel "system"...I'm a strong believer in lucas oil products they are #1 in my book......I mean come on we all know that unless you take something apart to clean it its not getting cleaned thoroughly....
