Do I need a whole new black box or can I just go pull a PROM out of a 350 tbi truck in the junk yard? I know I need new injectors can I pull those off a 350 truck also? (my junkyards dont have any 350 tbi cars) If not is there a place on the net to order em? Price? Link? And the knock sensor, where, price, installation=easy? I know alot of questions, and yes ive already searched for about an hour but havent had these things answered to a T. I want my car to be in good shape after the swap. Thanks for all the imput and answers in advance.

 

i know the subject is not gears but i got a question i just put 3.23 gears in my 80 olds 305 ho .30over pistons big cam th350 tranny edle mani headers and i had 2.29 gears in it it is still kind of a cow no burning of tires,BUT!when it gets going it hauls ***! alot quicker should i expect that from the line my buddy has an 87 iroc same engine and he skids for about 30 seconds

You need to keep searching, this has been coverd about a bajillion times....really a bajillion

You can get just a chip, you need one for a caprice with a 350 and your 746' ecm.

Knock sensor you can get from any parts store....lefty loosy righty tighty, it's down by the starter on the side of the block.

You can get the injectors out of a truck...they're all over ebay.

Did I mention this has been covered a bajillion times????

 

I talked to my mechanic today and he told me hes done alot of 305 to 350 swaps and I dont need new injectors or ecm unless im gonna do upgrades that demand more fuel delivery. ? hmmm If I dont like the way it runs ill just stop by the junkyard next paycheck lol

 

The mechanic is an idiot than. I have done the same swap as well. I can tell you first hand that a 350 under a 305 setup will run like poo compared to what it should run like. You also have the real potential of burning up engine parts if you drive it very hard for very long.

 

I trust you guys alot more than him.. sad to say lol. YOU guys are my mechanic. Ill pick up the parts from a junkyard hopefully, and just swap em once I get her back. Thanks alot for everything you guys are life savers. Well, at least car savers.
