Need some carb Vs. TBI help please!
I'm in the middle of building a killer 427 small block, I'm going for 600 hp. I have already assembled the intake assembly (Offey duel quad manifold, Turbo City carb to TBI adapters, 2 Holley 670 CFM TBI units, custom wiring harness, and It still needs a custom chip. Someone wants to buy the whole thing from me though, for more then what it cost me to build it, but I don't really know if I should go through all the trouble again of grinding the adapter and such to fit the TBI's blades in.
My question is, do you guys think that that setup would feed this thing to 600 hp? The engine will be capable of producing that power N/A, it's just the intake system now. Should I go the cheaper route and go with duel quads or a Dominator, or should I really try to inject this thing? Oh, and don't try to detur me from using duel quads because their tough to tune, I've done this plenty of times on other vehicles and it's not much of a challange for me.
I need opinions please!

if you did dual tbi i would hail you
even more so if you went with a single plane mpfi conversion with a billet 1000 cfm tb from force-efi.com or something like that

Hmmm.. I like that sound of that MPFI with the 1000 CFM throttle body. A supercharger would go nicely with that.....

DUKE!!!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE??!!!!
That would be pretty neat with the Dual TBI deal. But it would it work? Who knows. Would take probably some REAL fine tuning. I go with what the hodrodders use. Carb. Hey, they have to know something we don't about these things!

The duel TBI does work, I've already used it on my 327, just to test it, but it ran well. It was running somewhat rich, but I only had two PROMS burned for testing. At the time I was using two GM TBI units, now I have two Holley 670 TBI units, but haven't tested those yet, they'll never work on the 327, it's just too much. As for tuning, I'm going into the PROM burning business so I can make my own PROMS and I can make some money doing it for other people. I'mm still considering the carbs though if I do sell the fuelie setup. And I really like Pablo's idea.

Turbo city claims on their webpage that the dual tbi setup will go to 600 dont they?
Id trust em, and if it doesnt, o no, you've got 550hp. darn. we could all be so lucky.
I make a buck whenever i can, if somebody wanted to buy something i built, and i could make $$. ide sell it, cuz its always better and easier the second time around.
So hed have the ok one, and youd have the perfect one, learning from your first mistakes.
This is COMPLETELY NUTS, but.

3 little tbis?

I decided today. I had to, the guy said today or never. I already have everything, and I got everything dirt cheap, so I'm keeping it. With an Offey duel quad intake, turbocity adapter plates (these things are a bitch to grind to make the 670 blades fit), 2 Holley 670 CFM throttle bodies (one with requlator, one without, a wiring harness I made on my very own with automatic injector calibrators, a custom chip, and a normal GM TBI ECU, this 427 is gonna kick some serious *** . And with the TBI's greater torque combined with a 427's already awesome torque, I'll be breaking driveshafts and rearends at every light. Oh yeah, it's a small block.

could you explain to me how the dual tbi works. one with regulator one without. why is this, and how do you get the injectors to self calibrate.
Please, this sounds very interesting to me.

Very well.
The reason you use only one regulator is because the return fuel line from the regulated TBI feeds the other TBI.
What I mean by self calibrating is each injector fires in order.
1 3 (rear TBI)
4 2 (front TBI)
Does that make sense?
Here's what the Turbo City one looks like:

Yes ive seen the set-up.
And that does make sense, with the injectors. I was assuming the return line has something to do with it. So the second tbi is like pablo's with an external regulator and no return line, then the first tbi would be like a factory one, with the return line now being the feed line to #2. That makes sense, ya. Does the return line of the second return or do you have it plugged.

I made an adapter plate out of the 'ole cutting board for mine - no problemo grinding that, at $8 it was damn cheap AND it keeps the heat out of the TBI's a bit better than aluminum.I would like to see how you did the wiring harness; I don't want to make the mistake of buying Turbo City's and then have to mod it just to make it work - could you send me some pix or do you have it up on your web site yet?
Just in case any of y'all would like to see pix of a dual Holley setup on an Edelbrock manifold...
Yeah Baby YEAH!!
