That was awesome man>>>>>>that should have everyone inquiring understand how to do it.
I got a 10" edlbrock b/c the 14" didn't clear the linkage. I don't know what happened. Prolly 'cause I F*cked w/ the linkeage so much switching back and forth from carb to stock TBI. I do this when I go to the track. SO, that's option # 2 if you guys get the same prob.

whats funny is that if I was just to go over to someones garage that is having trouble with it, I could have it done in less than 5 minutes. LoL

Really great tech article. The only thing that I would like to know is what is your preference, drop base or non drop, and what brand would you recommend (K&N, edlebrock, or just some cheaper summit one or something like that). Once again, great article, you may have even convinced me to ditch the stock aircleaner

Great site man! I'm glad somebody finally put an article together instead of having to pick for info here and there on how to do this mod. Now you have to link to it somewhere to make it available and easy to find for everybody.

It's a 4.7K ohm resistor, and you don't have to solder it. You can just shove the wires into the weatherpack. Kinda like when you check codes on the ALDL.

You also forgot to mention the breather.

But otherwise good

ok ill put that in as a soldering alternative, i mean i know you are macyver, and as i remember you had a reputation for rigging things up

and i know i forgot the breather, i was waiting for a pic of an aftermarket one stuck into the stock breather hole.
I will add something aboutit tonight.

BTW, the arrow pointing to the throttle bracket was to note that I bent it down slightly to clear the drop-base air cleaner with no spacer ring.

The notch in the base is to clear the coil wires.

The breather is weird looking cause I got the wrong size, so I just shoved it in the breather tube It's a regular old Edelbrock breather, still using it like that actually....

Magyver I like your style! No more Cats, Down with Emmisions. I would have had to bend my cable bracket to since I have the Drop-base cleaner but the spacer I got is 1 inch high, so it clears it even without the goldring in there. Pretty cool eh?

hey mac, mind if i use some of yer pics on my article? I know how it is, i planned writing that thing a month ago and finaly got around to it. Now im workin again, and its so hard to find time for anything. Eventually i plan on video taping the process of doing the ultimate tbi, and taking pics, and maybe taping and taking pics of removing smog crap now too. When is the question. To bad your all the way out there on the coast and im in here surrounded by cornfields. We could get together and do some of this stuff, and save time.

Oh, those pics are old BTW, I don't have any AIR lines left, I even yanked the one off the cat. I'll ditch the smog pump when I get around to it.
