SLP Headers for 305 TBI

Is anyone currently using SLP headers and Y pipe on their 305 TBI engine and if so are you satisfied with the results if any results at all? Also need the SLP part numbers on the listed parts and the difficulty of installation. Along with this what would be a good after market cat. to use with this system, and did you use the 1 5/8" headers or the 1 3/4" headers?

See my post on the exhaust board. The Slp's went in as easy as possible but take your time. I used the 1 5/8 and gained a lot in the upper end and lost a lot below 3,000rpm.
Plan on adjusting your fuel pressure. I assume you are going 3" all the way back. I used a 3" catco cat from summit and a flowmaster muffler.Good luck........bob

I have the 1 5/8" and I never had it without them. The car pulls great in the mid range but low end isn't all there and the L03 just sucks at anything greater than 4200. So now I'm swapping in a 350 :-) The slp headers are great and street legal for NJ so even better.

They are easy to install, it just takes some time. If you are looking to do it quickly and need the car pay the extra money for the installtion kit and be sure to buy the cat adapter. If you can make it a weekend project and there is a parts store near by skip the install kit and get the bolt/misc. hardware gaskets from them It will be much cheaper. I am not sure about 1 5/8 headers but my 1 3/4's need to have a cover for the #1 spark plug wire, the wire will sit right on the tube. Most places sell an orange heat resistent material pretty cheap. Check them out at www.slponline.com
