HP/ ET Gains

Adding SLP 1 5/8" coated headers, SLP y-pipe, and Random Technologies 3" cat to my 91 Camaro RS 305 TBI which already has SLP 3.73 posi rear, 160 thermostat, SLP 3" cat back exhaust, and an Ed Wright computer chip. Best ET with BFG Drag Radials on Weld Pro Stars is 15.45 @87.49. What is best estimate on HP/Torque and ET gains?

That is an amazing time for stock exaust.

Well Headers are usuaslly 15-20hp
Exaust is usually 10-15hp

So maybe a 25-35hp gain with ur new headers and exaust system. Have fun and bring back a new time slip. Thats amazing.

How much gain do you think that fastchip gave you. I'm curious because I just got one for X-mas (early surprise gift) and I haven't installed it yet.

Pablo,
I ran the 15.45 with stock exhaust manifolds, stock y-pipe, and stock cat converter. I have the SLP 3" cat back exhaust installed on the car.

Pukka,
I figure maybe 5 HP gain when the Ed Wright chip was installed. Felt a noticeable difference at the track after the chip was installed. I also checked the timing after the chip was installed which was 4 degrees advanced versus the stock chip which was 0 degrees BTDC.

Tim,
How hard was the Edelbrock TES header installation? Were they coated? Also where did you get the cat eliminator pipe or did you make it yourself?

the tes headers weren't too bad to put in. if you have an a/c you will have to remove the pass side valve cover to get the pipes in. on the drivers side it makes it a lot easier if you disconnect the steering shaft. i got my pipes coated by jet hot, i think edlebrock only offers them chromed which doesn't hold up worth @#$%&&.
for the cat eliminator i just found a piece of 3in tube and welded the slip fit part from my cat to it and welded the other end to the cat back. watch were you live if ya wanna try this at home, it will triple how loud you car is, my neighbors already hate me so i didn't mind too much
the cat did give me .5mph in the quarter too.
