what kind of rear/gearing do you have? a posi with some 3.73's should help a lot. you are running a mph that is capable of of 15.60's with traction, the gear could take it a little further than that.
a little different convertor could help too, either a 2000 or 2400 stall would prolly cut you 60's by a couple hundredths, which could be a tenth or more coming out the other end. did you do the aldl lock up mod in the tech articles, that has been shown to net big gains.
hope this helps

Just out of curiosity, what was the temp like and what's the altitude? Figuring 3600lbs. with the car, you, and gas that equates to 186.2 at the rear wheels (according to this horsepower calculator). That sounded a little low so, either my weight guesstimate is off or you're at altitude, which will cost ya' horsepower...

Something is F'ed up there. It may be a LO3 but the stuff u have put on it should be running a lot better than that. What was ur stock times? I guess that time would be correct if u ran a 17.0 in the 1/4 mile stock. Them mods are worth about 1 second I guess.

no way, ur car should have ran that stock. Something isnt right. I wouldnt worry about gears right now, i would go through that car and find out whats robbing ur power. Either that or just a bad combo of mods. I am not sure

I just looked at them again,..this was my best run from friday. I had them confused.

r/t-------.563
60'-------2.311
330-------6.736
1/8-------10.309
MPH-------69.20
1000------13.370
1/4-------15.957
MPH-------87.00

At this point im tired of ****ing with this car. Untill I get an idea of what is wrong im not going to play with it, im tired of troubleshooting it. If it wasn't modded out the *** I would probably sell it. As it sits its not very legal.

I did notice that it is backfireing terribly through the TBI when cold. I cant get it above 110* under normal driving conditions,..If I sit in traffic for about 20 min it will get around 180, and it seems to run better. But at the track it was all warmed up,... and seemed to be running fine. Just slow as hell.

that 60' about sez it all. a 2.33 means the tires were spinning. time to work on some traction, that number should prolly be a low 2.1 something or a high 2.0
i'd be willing to bet if you found some grip you would find a ton of et and little more mph.

ps is it backfiring through the throttle body? if so the car is leaning out, either find 350 injectors or raise you fuel pressure a little, i think there is a tech article on how to make the factory regulator into an adjustable.

What NJ speeer said! You need WAY more fuel for your current combo. I would be looking to run 13-14 PSI if I were you.

About traction; the best you can REASONABLY expect on REAL street tires is a 1.9 60' time with an automatic trans. Since you got a 2.33 60' you could easily improve your launch to achive a 2.0 60' time that .33 sec improvement shows up DIRECTLY at the end of the strip -meaning with a better launch, your car should have run a 15.627. That still isn't very good. I think you should be running mid to high 14's

Raise your FP, concentrate on your launch, and be ready for some MUCH better numbers.

One last thing, if your just looking to see what your car will do, don't worry about your reaction time, launch when YOU'RE ready. Your time doesn't actually start untill your tires clear the lights.

Isn't 13-14 PSI REALLY high for TBI Tom?

Yea, it's pretty high, but it all depends on how much fuel your engine needs. Rock90rs has done quite a bit to improve his engines air flow, the ECM doesn't "know" that, so raising the FP is a cheap way to compensate. I don't know how high he should go -that part is trial and error. Esspecially if you don't have a scan tool.

Just to give a sort of comparison, my car is very similar mods wise except being topped by a fairly well tuned carb. It has WELL over 200k miles and crappy compression, burns oil, the works. I also ran that on a hot and muggy florida night, so most any engine with similar mods should be beating my times.

I ran a best 15.2@94 with a similar high 2.3/low 2.4 60', on a 2.73 open rear end with an auto tranny.

The point is, you definatly have some tuning/induction issues For starters I'd get an A/F gauge so you can see what thats doing, and go frm there.
