You can't really say by mileage. It depends on the condition of the cam.......and most of all.....THE OWNER OF THE CAR IT'S IN. Does he beat the crap out of the car?? Well, if you want to talk mileage....I'd say, no more than 50K

roller cams don't really wear that much. Look at what kind of condition it is in. Check for cracks and other abnormalities, run your finger over the lobes and feel for gouges or ridges.

40 bucks>>>>>>>>>go for it. Plus, being a roller (as stated above), it's true that it doesn't wear as rapidly. Are you gonna swap lifters and springs by any chance????

Funny you should ask..........I had the same questions. Anyway, no need to swap lifters.........and it's a good idea to swap springs, but I'm personally not going to swap springs on the 305.

Swapping lifters can get expensive, Crane OE replacement lifters run $169.99. It really won't give you anything but piece of mind, unless one of the lifters you've got now is messed up. I don't think that I'm going to bother when I swap my cam, I'm broke enough as it is.

So is this the cam u were trying to sell me nic? Some old beat up LT1 cam? j/k Someone told me that I should swap to a double roller chain (timing chain needs to be swapped out every 100,000 miles I guess anyways) so I think I am just going to do that. But should I do the springs as well? I take very good care of my car. Every 3,000 miles, use Castrol Synthetic every oil change and oil filter. So u think my springs should be replaced? (105,000 miles on my car now)
