What kind of power should I expect??

The car...
92 RS, 305 tbi, a4, 2.73 gears. Basically stock except for cutout and open element.

What will this combo give me power wise?

have the motor rebuilt, bored .60 over to a 310.

Add vortech 305 heads, lt1 cam, performer rpm intake, holly 650 carb, 1 3/4 headers, high flow cat, flowmaster cat back.

Will also add 3.42s and a slp takeoff posi out back. Then a 100 shot of nos. Is this worth the money? What kind of horsies will i see without nitrous? 1/4 mile times?

Please don't post this on this board if you're planning on going with carb. We don't need this. I'm going to pretend you want to use a holley 670cfm TB system for a while. I'm the "good" moderator .
Anyways, The headers are a must but the 1 3/4 are a little too big for a 305/310 even at 7000rpm. So if you plan on staying with the 305 then 1 5/8" would do GREAT. As for the performer RPM intake, that's a good intake but match it up to the cam. I'm not really familiar with the lt1 cam but you do the homework and figure out if the RPM is a better choice. A lot of the times the performer will produce not as much high end hp but will turn more torque and hp at lower rpms up to 5500. I'm so glad to hear somebody wants to use a cat, it's about time. The gears are also a BIG improvement. If I had to do only one mod it would be gears. If I had to do a second it would be open air cleaner. If I did a third it would be headers. I wish I could give you some guestimate on how you would do in the 1/4 mile but I don't hear a lot of people with 310s. I'm sure you'd do fine. Just an idea though, if you where going with a carb then 600 would be plenty if not too much for even a choppy cam. The holley 670 would be best with a really crazy cam. Be ready to spend $200 on a custom chip so the engine doesn't blow up. As for the NO2, I think if you rebuilt with forged pistons you should be fine. Just remember the bottom end is SO important, don't cut corners. Wait a year on the NO2 if it's the difference between forged and cast. Another option is a 350 crate engine with the vortec heads. They make some great combo's. Another thing to take into consideration is that the 305 is a roller cam. Be ready to spend mega bux on a roller cam setup. Also make sure you use mechanical roller lifters so they don't float at higher rpm. That is if you plan to go with a crazy intake system. Does that answer most of your questions?

.060 over 305 is a 315. Why would you want to rebuild a 305??

if you want vortec 305 heads just find a 305 vortec from a a totaled truck and put in the whole thing.

He wants to be original I guess. I also don't see the point of having a 305. It's a lot cheaper to just go with a 350 and produce more hp. It's almost a no brainer but then again it would be really cool to see the stock engine block beating up mustangs at the track.

What's the point of going any faster than stock unless it's fun. I think doing it with a 305 would be more fun than with 350 in some cases.

Be warned though. This might not last very long. If you **** me off too frequently I can turn into snflupigus . For right now though he acting the evil role. He snflupigus, can I open up threads on other boards? I've noticed a few that should not have been closed and that really pisses me off sometimes. It's like the moderators don't pay any attention to the content, only the topic subject (cough~RCR~cough, darn dry throat) cough-evil-cough

Challenege? Sh*t I want power, f-ck challenges. I will take harder challeneges on the road with a modified 350 before a modified 305.

I would love to see a 305 at the track running 12's with no power adders and 10's with S/C and NO2. That would be fun, you never see it and so I think I'd just have the biggest grin on my face. Heck, if imports can do the replacement for displacement, why can't a chevy on a diet?
