Thoughts about a racing TBI

Or it could work on the streets. I was thinking about how TBI has two small bores. what if i opened up the bores as far as i could go and knocked out the whole center section so it would be one huge oval bore? I know this would erquire reprogramming. Also, i could use bigger injectors in it too. and on a single plane carb manifold. has anyone tried this before? Or is there one on the markket? thanks

I must say that isn't that bad of an idea except for the fact that the venture shape would but crap. That is why you see the higher performance vehicles with more small ventures. You can try and arguee that with the new LS1 intake design but they have tuned runners, same as the ford 5.0s (really 4.9L). Then I'm imagining the actual fuel spray hitting eachother and turning into larger drops (that isn't good). The fabrication I see no problem with, just cut it all out and fill in the space between. Then use one huge injector and reprogram. I'm thinking it might work okay but still it's just a mess.

for street racing and stop light races the standard bore can make more than enough power. those types of things don't usually go to outragous speeds so what you really need is the get up of torque. that is what the stock layout does for you.
