Idiling to high because of .5" spacer...how do I make the throttle linkage longer?

I succesfully installed a half inch spacer and open air element however my car idles at 1200 rpm now. The throttle cable is streched like 1/16 of an inch. I need to stretch the cable to that the throttle arm will go down all the way to let my car idle at 500. How do i do this. Has anyone else had this problem?
