13 second 305 TBI combo

A guy on the thirdgen email list posted this combo and his ET from his L03 305 TBI engine in his 1992 Camaro RS. I'm sharing to give you guys ideas and something to shoot for.

L03 short block
LT1 cam
World SR Torquer 305 heads
Edelbrock Performer intake w/ Holley TBI adaper
Stock throttle body and injectors
Custom ECM tune
Hooker shorty headers
3" cat-back
3.42 gears
T5 trans

It dynoed 225 whp / 255 wtq.

The 60 ft sucked because it wood ether bog or spin the tires on launch.
The car is setup for autocross, not drag.

2.6 60' time, 14.2 @ 97 MPH
That's easily mid 13's with a better launch. Of course, now he's converted it to TPI and couldnt be happier. No dyno results or ET's since, though.

That sounds about right, pretty close to my combo. It could probably be done for less money. I used stock heads, and ported them in my garage.

That thing is WAY short on torque from what it should be for even a L03. Mine was over 280 RWTQ from 2,500 rpm and up.

I wonder if it was ever tuned with a wide band or even DIY.

Custom Tune can mean TBICHIPS.com, lol.

I was thinking the same thing, seems a little light on torque. Decent results never the less. I'll hopefully have something similar by the end of the year in my bird. But I'll be using 416 heads and a ZZ4 cam though.

You will like that combination. I have Ported 081s (basically 416s) with the ZZ4 cam on my 350 TBI. It will flat get up and go
