I could really use some help. Ive got a 1990 305 TBI and its been acting up lately. When the car idles it seems to idle at low RPM's (about 500) and as it idles it will "choke" and almost stall and then it will rev itself up to about 1500 RPM's. When this happens and I have the hood open I can hear a buzzing sound from the injectors. It also smells a lot like raw fuel after this happens. I was hoping someone could tell me if this is a bad injector or what else it could be. Is there any way to test to see if an injector is bad? Also, could this be the reason that I failed my emissions test (California). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 

Sounds like the engine running rich . This could be faulty injectors , maybe it's a bad ECM ...
