I bought the super conducter wires for my car awhile ago and had planned on having the dealer put them in when my car went in for some rutine maintance. Well my car went in last thursday and they stared right away. No sooner did I get home I get a call from them sating that I got the right wires. I tried to tell him those were the correct wires for the car but he said that the wire kit didn't come with 180 degree boots for cylinders 5,6 and 8. So i said ok and drove 75 miles to jegs to get the 180 boots. The next day I get another call from the mecahnic saying that those wires really are't fitting because the cylinder #2 wire is like 7 inches to short. By now I am pissed and have to drive 75 more miles back to jegs and pay 80 dollars for the universal kit that has longer wires and proper boots. I am trying to get MSD to pay for them because they were certainly boxed wrong and cost me over 150 bucks for a simple wire setup, not to mention all of the unnessecarry mileage. did anyone else have this problem or did theirs just slip right on???

I bought mine for an 86 IROC and put them on my 91RS and they fit just fine. I don't like how the distributor boots are discoloring but other than that there great.

I think MSD just put the wrong wires in the right box. It is just typical with my luck

I was gonna say something along the lines of what snuf said but you know I couldnt have pulled that off without coming off as insulting

mine came with all 90 degree boots and I didn't have a problem putting them in and i haven't had any problems since. I actully like the 90 better

Mine came with Herman Survivor boots and I can get around just fine in them.

Those frigging wires burn the plug boots EVERY TIME!!!!!! Good wires until they do, though. Too bad they don't use better boots/exterior wire coatings... They'll learn...

Yeah, I think Nic is right. Wires are easy man, u should have done them yourself. Now you have learned ur lesson. All u had to do was take one off at a time and replace it with the right size wire. Not to hard at all. Oh well. Remember this next time and come to the boards first when u get a new mod. Chances are we can help u install it for free and no hassle.

I was going to do them myself because of the simplicity but since my car was in for servicing I thought "hey I will just have them slip them on after they put the plugs in" I was going to have to pay for it anyways because they took the old wires off. Plus I had to have them splice the new terminals on after I realized that they were the wrong wires in the right box. I had only a few days time to get this done since I had to be back at school and the car had to be put away. So reordering the right ones to do myself was out of the ? I would have posted a ? about the simplicity of instalation but everyone and their brother have these wires have said how easy it was to buy the kit and slip em on. So I just assumed no biggy as long as I GET THE RIGHT ONES IN THE BOX......

f*ckin guys. i think you should call their customer service and ask for a supervisor. You should get a $ discount or small refund. A well written letter should also get a good response from them and maybe some $ back.

I say letter SHOULD, because if they suck, well then they suck you know.

so call em, bitch, and get something for your troubles. Its how the world works man, if they dont fess up or take responsibility for their mistake, thats horse pucky, and we should all write a letter to let them know how many people will know they dont take responsibility for their f*up.

I am in the process of telling them of their mistake and hoping they will give me $. It ended up costing me an extra 200 bucks for them to get all the wires on. I am gonna try to get them to pay for both sets of wires along with the super high instalation fee to which the dealer said "we had trouble with all that extra work."
