TBI Intake
TBI Intake
Hey guys, I'm building a 350 for my 89' RS. I have a Lunati Bracket Master Cam and am going to get a Holley TBI. I'm keeping the stock heads and reworking them. What would be a good intake for this? Thanks for any help.

bracket master? what are the specs on that cam? most of the bracket racing cams ive seen have been rather large. Id go with a single plane like a victor jr if thats the case, and if its not that large, a low rise single plane would probably be better suited to it like the weiand 7525 or torker II

btw, by stock heads, what do you mean? 350 SBCs came with so many different heads that could mean anything
I think the wisest course of action would be to spend your money on the best heads you can buy. I personally would not pay for a new holley throttle body especially since you need to essentially dismantle it and re-engineer the thing to work worth a damn. I found a used one for 50. Id hold out, spend that money on heads. Heads are where the power is at.

The Cam is the Model 00010 292/292 adv. duration. .480"/.480" Gross Lift. I have also been considering converting to Carb. Do you guys think that would be a better idea? Whats wrong with the holley TBI? I'm not sure what the heads are. They're just some cast iron heads that were on the block. Thanks for any help.

what is the duration at .050 my good man, thats alot of adv. duration, either thats a crappy cam or a really huge cam
TBI is better than carb when its been properly setup. If you dont plan on getting into the programming side and making an effort to understand the hows and whys of engine tuning then get a carburetor

Search the TBI archives. I was about to buy a Holley TBI, too until I saw what others had to say. Your stock unit should flow plenty for that cam. Make sure that you have your exhaust taken care of first.

PS: That IS a lot duration! My cam has the same lift but with 210/224 adv. duration. I can give you the P/N if you'd like. If not, I hope that you know someone who is good at burning chips!
