Compression - ? for TBI'rs

What compression are you guys running OTHER than stock?

About how high can you safely go on premium?

I wish I could give you a good number but you also should figure on getting a custom chip burned. You can always retard the timing and run a little more timing.
The general rule is no more than 10.5 to 1. My friend is running 10.2:1 in his 327 and he uses 94 octane. That's with Dart Iron eagle heads, I wouldn't go more than that with iron and I wouldn't go more than 10.5 with aluminum.

you can get away with up to 11.5 to 1 on pump gas in a small block. at that point you will hafta be a lot more conservative with the timing though. if you go with longer connecting rods (stock is 5.7in) you can get away with even more compression.
the best way to build compression is always from the head, reducing chamber size, pop up pistons can mess up th eflame spread and cause detonation and serious performance loss.
