weak 305

i know that this isnt exactly "tbi" related but, how come everytime i get sideways in my stock 305 tbi and it hits second gear, it jerks back so hard? is it just because it is sooo weak? would 3.73s and a posi help this from happening and help me be able to hold it sideways?

If you get a posi, you would definitely not want to "get sideways". I am assuming that you eman burning out around a corner. This is a big no no if you have a posi because it is bad for the clutches. To answer your question, you probably cant hold it sideways because of a lack of power like you said. But my question is, Why would you want to?

Cause it's fun! The 700R4 has a steep first gear, then when you hit second it's takes your rpms down out of the torque band. If holding sideways is that important to you the gears should help.

I've always wanted to do doughnuts but everytime I get a little sideways my car feels like it's gonna flip so I back off.

If you can flip your car on flat dry pavement by doing donuts, then i might buy your car after you do it. Because unless you have it jacked up about 2 feet off the ground it won't flip.(Asuming it is a 3rd gen)

I know it is very unlikely that it WILL flip, but it does feel like it could and I cant bear the thought of that happening to my car, so I'm not gonna do it.....well maybe not just yet

my cheapass tires will roll off the rim if i get even a bit sideways. at first i wasnt sure that was what you were talking about

anyway, you could get 4L80e, from a fourthgen and a new b&m tranny computer that you can control every aspect of the tranny operations with.

The center of gravity in a 3rd gen is very low. There is NO WAY your gonna flip your car doing donuts! You're more likely to **** up your tires or your suspension.
