Gas Mileage & other questions.

I just recently got my 1991 Firebird back (2 weeks ago) from the body shop. The gas that was in it has been there since Xmas. I installed the Open Element & put in new gas since this occured, but I went heavy on the throttle to keep up with my g/f's 96 mustang gt & when I pulled in to the gas station w/ her I went on the wrong side of the pump, & i noticed a funny smell, like rotten eggs, so I started the car to move to the other side and it had an extremely rough idle, so I turned it off and after cooling down, it started ok, no more problem. I run 93 octane, and my gas mileage has gone down considerably.

Could it be that the Catalytic Convertor swelled up from the heat at that point? I am going to probaly gut the ****er if it is the problem.

And also would a bottle of F.I. Cleaner help in my next tank?

Thanks, Clint
