Would it be possible to run this system on a 305 TBI? Not stock of course. Get the block built up and put on some high flowing 64cc heads to lower compression, a good intake manifold and a high flowing TB (snuf! that's your department, lol). I know some will probably say it's overkill for a 305 but I'm still a firm believer that the baby V8 has a lot of potential under the right conditions. Alright, so tell me how crazy I am; let's discuss.

You "could" make some serious hp that way. But I haven't found any forged cranks for a 305 or forged supercharger/turbo pistons. By the time you build the 305 you could have built the 350 or a 383 and had way more torque. One other problem is possibly the throttle body. When I ran my Paxton on my truck, the kit came with a hardened throttle shaft because Paxton states that the shaft will bow when boost is applied to closed throttle blades. Like when you let off the gas or at idle. allowing air to pass thru causing a lean condition and surge when letting off the gas and an uncontrolable fast idle. Paxton doesn't make a TBI kit anymore and I don't know if you can get a hardened shaft from anyone to withstand decent boost. If I am wrong please post. I want to run some boost (around 15psi)on my truck engine again someday. Well thats my $.02 post.

Your not crazy at all. My plans include a sequential twin turbo system (small for low end torque, large for high end hp), after I free up the breatheing with vortec heads, intake and my LT1 camshaft. Properly tuned, this setup would be a very streetable terror.

that is a bad idea for TBI. With turbo or turbo style supercharger fuel will want to puddle up on the floor of the intake. Insted of pushing air through the TBI it would be better to pull it though with a roots or screw type blower.

as for the crank, 305s have the same stroke as a 350 so you could use a forged 350 one if you have it balanced for the smaller pistons. there are forged 305 pistons you just need to look some more.

why would you do that to a 305. do it something bigger even if you get a **** load of power per cubic inch you would get more power with more cubic inches

If you are starting out with a tbi unit, you could convert it to an Edelbrock sfi, and just use the tbi or a stripped 4 barrel carb to meter air to it.

If I want to play with a 350, that's what the vette is for. If I want to go really fast really cheaply, that's what the superbike is for. The 305 is just gonna be a hobby project.

i completely hear soulbounder. only ive got a 69 for fun and screwing around with and the 92 for daily.

anyway, mytbi probably wouldnt be best for that setup, however it would help with velocity since there would only be 2bbl instead of 4, but since there are some turbos on there velocity as pretty much taken care of in other ways

thanks for the plug though. btw, anybody got a couple hundred to spare so i can build one
