Yer not gonna believe this! (0-60 in 9 secs PART 2)

I was drivin' home from work about 20 mins ago. I was stopped at a red light...first car. It turned green and I accelerated knowing I wouldn't get less than a 9 second 0-60 when BAM!! It sounded like I ran over something...I look behind me and their is all this dirt and crap floatin in the air. Hey this sounds nice, I thought. The unusual high pitch of my engine turns into the mellow drone of a V8. Just curious, I punch the accelerator....WOW!!! Like a freakin' rocket!! My exhaust system was obviously clogged with something...and I just blew it out. That's what my problem has been. Perfect timing eh?? Boy am I happy!

you may want to take an old spray bottle and shoot some water into the engine. all you do is turn the car on, and while revving the engine spray bursts of water into the engine. it will make some nasty noises like it has a serious smokers cough and then it will put out a bunch of black smoke as it clean the combustion chambers.
if your valves had a build up on them, that is liely what came loose. put in some good gas and some fuel system cleaner too.
hopefully it will run even better.
sounds like time to re g-tech the thing

That's sorta ironic. I had the same experience with my Ex girlfriend's 94 Geo Prism. She complained that the car had no power and I went out and drove the car. It had the 5 speed, so I went up through the gears HARD. Like she said, it was low on power, but when I shifted into third (yes, I was powershifting!!) I heard a sound that sounded something that sounded like a potato gun, and the car suddenly started running much better. When I looked in the mirror I saw a huge black dust ball, with what like like the insides of a catalytic convertor strewed everywhere. Later that week, I had the cat replaced, and it was still partially clogged, so you may want to remove/replace the cat, because after I replaced her's, it ran even better than after it puked up most of the clog.

I know I'm definitely in high 7s or better. That's just from counting in my head...I havn't timed it right yet. I know that didn't fix it completely...but it sure is A LOT better. Not only does it perform better...but it SOUNDS good now too.

True, everybody should punch it once in a while except for Onefine8T9. He's trying to keep the car stock and so he wants to keep it as if his Grandma drives it!
Definatly get the Cat replaced.

Yeah, keeping on the gas every once in a while is a good idea. Push out the carbon, clean the cat, etc. If you don't want to beat on your car, there's a lube shop solvent that cleans comb. chambers, and cats out well. It enters the engine through the PCV system. If you can find a shop that carries it, you have to pay their over-inflated prices for the bottle, unfortunately. They won't just sell you the bottle, and let you go do it yourself.
Speaking of Onefine8T9, whatever happened to him?

Here's a tip I learned from an old timer...
I had an old car, and one day I was doing a compression test on it.... all the cylenders were fine except #8. It was 2:1 (what the....) This old guy told me to get the car up to temp and take off the air cleaner and pour "Marvel Mystery Oil" in the carb until it chokes. Let it sit for 12-24 hours. startit back up and let it burn off the rest of the oil. So I did it and my compession went up to 7.5:1..... The thing I should warn you about is that if you use half of the can like i did.... uummmm your neighbors won't be too happy with ya..... I lived by an interstate.... I clouded up all 3 lanes for 2 miles....
You can even put this stuff in your gas tank or crank case... Great stuff.. love the smell too.

you can get Marvel Mystery Oil at just about any auto parts store.. it's in a red bottle/can. it's some weird ****.. but I do say.. it's the only "gimmicky" product I use for anything automotive.. I usually use it instead of WD-40.. near as i can tell.. it's like a scented ATF kerosene mix... but I haven't anaylized it or any wacky **** like that.. that's just what it acts like.. it smells like peppermints tho.. so it doesn't get annoying using it..
