Boring TBI to 48mm

Does anybody know what kind of shops i should look for so i can get my stock TB bored out to 48mm?? Turbo City has really ridiculous prices.
Also, anybody have the stock 48mm TB plates from a TPI car? Or know of a place where i can get them? Thanks

Any good machine shop should be able to bore it out for you, but most shops charge $50 to $75 an hour, I'm a machinist and I just spent about 3hr. boring mine out, milling off the ridge above the bores, polishing it and making new throttle plates, I'm getting it ready for a 350 I'm building. If you could find the throttle plates yourself that would save them from having to make some to fit it.

plates probably took the most time huh?

want to make me some 58mm ones? how much would you charge?

o, and yes, i said fifty eight.

if youve got the thing taken apart, i cant imagine it taking any longer than one hour to bore it out. the ridges etc, polishing, another hour. those plates probably took the third hour huh?

I've already removed all the ridges and radiused the bores in, i just need to find the plates now and get it bored out. I have a friend who has a welder and knows how to weld, maybe we'll try adding some extra material to the TB and see if i can get it bored out to 2". But how do i go about polishing it and is it necessary?
