TBI "sticks" when throttle closed.

It's not the cables.

Mine was sticking at one time because the idle set screw backed out just enough to where the butterflies closed tighter and jammed up a little in the bores, cause the butterflies are just a hair elongated.I had to drill out the cap that covered the screw and turn it in a bout one turn and that solved the problem.

that is the most likely cause. it is also a good idea for all of us to spray a little bit of pentrating lube into the throttle shaft area. the soft aluminum of the body rubbing the steel shaft can cause a bit of distortion over time. keeping it slippery is the best defense.
