Is this a good time?

Ok went to Etown last night. I didnt do as good as I thought I was going to do. I only ran a 18.5, 16.5, 16.4. Can anyone tell me if This is a good time for my mods. I know I have to hook up a little better off the line, so If you got any ideas how to get a 89 RS Peg leg with a 700r4 tranny to hook up let me know. Here are the Mods:
1) Open Air Element
2) K&N
3) 180 degree Thermo
4) Hedman Headers
5) High Flow Cat
6) Flomaster Muffler
7) Custom Burned chip (thanks to JP)
8) tune up about 8K ago
9) Upped the voltage on the TPS for .68 for
closed throttle

PS. Just in case this matters, My VSS is all messed up. Basically it dont work at all. From whut JPrevost said it is makin it so my Torque convert dont lock up. How much does this hurt me? And if this matters. I started the first time with my foot on the break and reving the engine to 3 grand then when the light turned green gave it all, the other time I just stomped the gas pedel. If any one has any ideas, let me know. Thanks

PPS. Also why is my car soooo heavy. It weighed in at 3920. The only power thing I have is my power door locks. My buddy has a 89 TA and his is only 3600. I even took out my box and some extra stuff. WHY AM I SOO FAT N HEAVY?

what were your 60' times and mph on each run.
you could always drop one of the links off the front sway bar before yopu run, it lets the front end come up and transfer more weight.

Yeah, post all the info. How the hell did you get the car to hold up to 3000rpm with a stock tranny and converter? That's high, I can't even get that with my converter and engine combo. As for your times, that's EXACTLY what I got my first 2 runs in the RS. First run I had mad tire spin and ran an 18.3 then ran a 16.4 with the tranny slipping into both 2nd and 3rd. Did you get the misfire fixed? Was it the wires?
Did you use the chip I burned you or the stock chip?

I'll second the "gears" suggestion. You also need to refine your launch. The ideal launch would be somewhere inbetween the mad brake torqueing of your first run and the release-brake-stomp-gas of the next 2 runs.

My RS weighed in at 3260 lbs with just over half a tank of gas. Mine is a T-5 hardtop, manual everything except hatch release, with A/C, rear seats removed (damn things are useless anyway!). 660 pounds is one hell of a big difference...

I was on that scale a few weeks ago and I was 3550 with me (175) and 2/3 tank gas. I have a hardtop, subframe connectors, boxed stock panhard and LCA, strut tower brace, heavier springs, larger sway bars, kept AC, slightly heavier engine (4 bolt 350 with more "stuff"), kept AC, didn't have a muffler but had dump over axle, HAD stereo amps and speakers in car, had rear seat or at least the heaviest part (back), was missing most of rear panels, HAD b-quiet 90 square feet of sound deadening which was heavy, but I don't have the smog pump. All in all your car has that sunroof but that's about it. Their is no reason why your car weights so much, get it reweighed because I think something was wrong.
Definatly get gears, they are probably the reason why my car doesn't shift into 3rd until crossing the 1/4 mile mark. Either way I hope to hear from you about the plug wire resistance. Definatly check the spark plugs on the passenger side. The drivers side should be fine because the O2 sensor is in that side of the engine's y-pipe and Diacom said it was running right at ~450mv after some fine tuning.

John:
Pork's busy today so I figured I'd let ya' know what we found:

One wire was totally scorched through and arcing. the rest were on their way. We put in new wires (with the correct size boot) and got those sleeves for the wires that are a metal mesh material for around the headers, worked like a charm .

I had trouble measuring the resistance of the old and new wires, I didn't get a very consistent reading at all. One was 50 ohms, another 12k, then 13k, all over.

Pork also was using your chip. That day it was running like a champ. DEFINITELY felt a difference from the stock chip, thanks from both of us .

Glad to hear the chips doing good.
Also glad we concluded that it was the wires that nite . Now if only NJSpeeder would get his car back on the road and SELL ME HIS EXHAUST!!!!! Then I would program a chip for him. Jerk j/k I understand he needs to get his exhaust unwelded and that his rear is in need of a rebuild.
How is Randy's bird doing? I know he's got 3.73 posi but what else has he done?
