jet stage 2 chip

How much more power would I produce going from a hypertech thermpmaster chip to the jet stage two chip. I have a low temp thermo and a freeflowing exhaust.

No chip is going to really do a whole lot power wise. A good aftermarket chip might produce 2-3 hp or so in our cars. That being said going from a hypertech to a JET will probably get you a gain of about 6 hp. Hypertechs are notorious for doing things like actually retarding timing. I have a JET stage 2 and have no problems with it. No real SOTP difference, but it'll probably help out more when the engine gets more mods...

The best thing to do is get a custom burned chip. That way you'll get that 10 HP or so from it; I'm going to get one myself as soon as I get that Edelbrock intake I've had my eyes on. Try www.fastchip.com, I hear the guy there burns the bestest. It'll cost ya $350 bucks though.

NOT TO START A RIOT OR SOMETHING BUT I WOULD PUT MY JET STAGE TWO AGAINST ONE OF FASTCHIPS "CUSTOM" CHIPS ANY DAY FASTCHIP IS A POOR EXCUSE FOR A CUSTOM CHIP. UNLESS YOUR RUNNING N.O.S. OR A SUPERCHARGER THERE A WASTE OF MONEY. I HAVE TRIED A FASTCHIP CUSTOM AND THE JET ON A DYNO THE JET WAS BETTER ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE PULL, IF YOU DO GO WITH A JET RUN A LOW TEMP FAN SWITCH AND A 180 T-STAT 160 T-STAT RUNS IT TO RICH. AND A STAGE II JET ADDED 10-13 REAR WHEEL HP DEPENDING ON TEMP.

here is your riot. buy all the chip burning stuff for under 300 and do your own, besides if you plan on going with more mods, you can get free updates. FROM YOUR SELF.

no aftermarket chips are worth their money, and 350 for a custom is ok, but only if your car is done and you dont plan on any more mods, and who's car is ever done. really. do it yourself. took me 8 chips to get my stock l03 feeling good again.

I was told that we couldn't program chips without swaping the computer. If we can do it with the stock setup, tell me what I need to have that works with the tbi setup and I'll start the learning process.

Look at the tech articles for the one about prom-burning. You need that equipment. My dad's successfully done several TBI setups now.

up until a few months ago, you couldnt program a new chip for the 8746 ecm, which is a lot of our cars. the ecm has been hacked and now you can. no problems
