T.B.I Spacer noise
T.B.I Spacer noise
I have a 93 chevy silverado Truck with a 305 TBI. I installed a throttle body spacer, and also at the same time I put a container of injecter cleaner in the gas tank. Now I hear this annoying buzz from inside the truck. But it is not noticable from the outside of the truck even with the hood open. I think it is the injectors. The guy at the auto parts store told me it is because of the throttle body spacer. He says it is because the sound of the injectors is bouncing off the inside of the intake. I was just wondering if anybody heard this noise and what it was.

It could be the injectors hissing, but it could also be a leak in the tbi spacer. try shooting some carb cleaner through the spacer seems and see if the engine bogs down. if it does you've got a vacuum leak there. I have heard injectors hiss, so it is possible to just be an echo.
good luck,
Mike

I bet its just a hiss. I have a spacer and I can hear a hiss. I just had a vacuum leak repaired so I know its not that. But since I installed the Edelbrock intake I can hear a hiss in the car but not outside or under the hood. I would still check for a vacuum leak but if everything is bolted tight and the car (or truck) still runs smooth, I would not worry about it. You'll know when you have a vacuum leak.

fahq clearly your name is vulgar and offensive to a prude. The decent folks who share an interest in TBI third gen. f-bodies, wish not to have such trailer-trash truck-driving profanity displayed on the board.
