last night i ran 16.82 @ 81mph...
in my bone stock 88 camaro 305 T.B.I
5 speed.... is this a decent time for
this car???

it is a bit off, sounds like you prolly spun a bit though. most people run in the 82 or 83 mph range and closer to the 16.2 or 16.3 mark.
what were your incremental times? if your 60ft is higher than 2.25 you are definately having some wheel spin issues.

i spun the hell outta the tires
off the line...... 60ft was 2.68
i had a hella bad reation time too 1.387
first time racing w/ a tree.....

no just kidding, its been a long day at work and my mind is a little screwy.

it sounds like you lost a lot of time in the 60 footer and the reaction time. more practice will give you lower times.

Are you racing at LACR? That's about 3000 ft above sea-level, if I'm not mistaken.
And thats why it's slow. I ran a 17.0 at 3500 ft and then a 16.5 at 2200 ft.

Corrected to sea-level should be real close to 16.0

well, dont feel bad. I went out for my first time Friday. I drive an 88 305 TBI with an open air element and catback and ran a best 16.2@83 and had a reaction time of.62. and no wheel spin. The 305 are just not that fast.
