this needs to be said (about tbi guys)

first off, I know this is non-tech, but please don't close.

I made a post a few days ago and .....it got answered; something I've been trying to get answered (both posts and research) on the exhaust forum for three months.

I just want to say how great the fellow tbi guys are. even when my first question ever was "I need cheap performance parts for my 91 rs" you didn't shrug me off as a a punk teenager, you helped, and I listened and did (check out the sig, just a start, not bad since I joined in march!).

last year in High School I knew more about cars that anyone in the school, including the ag teacher. and I owe it all to you (well, I also work at a tractor dealorship, but rarely learn anything)

If you haven't got my point then this is for you : Thank you so much

------------------
late model 91 rs
fully loaded t-tops, red leather
paint- gm red and yellow blend (light red)
custom painted 16" Camaro rims
305 tbi 14"x3" O.E, hypertech chip, accel super stock plug wires
Edelbrock 3" cat-back
MTX sub and amp, Bose all around

street kills: a lot of "family" cars, pickups, New v-6 stang, totally killed '86 SC Camaro, 91 z 28 with 305
next month: rest of ultimate tbi

Y'know - I'm glad that somebody said that. I too am a highschool student right now - senior - and I owe a great deal to the hot-rod community. While most kids are running around doing drugs, cheating, and giving teens a bad name - I'm talking to retired neighbors about my garage project that they're constantly asking about - leaving a positive image of youths in their mind. A combination of pride in a creation and creativity always seems to spawn good - as I believe everyone here would agree. Besides that, working at a machine shop (Earl's Engine in Stafford Ct) I've been exposed to high-performance theories and technology that have helped make it possible for me to build my own 355 at age 17 (literally - I did the machine work and parts choosing myself). Anyway - I just wanted to say this too. Maybe instead of "hugs not drugs" the saying should go: "tubs not drugs". Thanks everyone.

I remember being the same way back in Oct of 1999 when I registered to the board. It looked a lot different then thats for sure and we even had a non-tech section Pablo remembers. I learned a lot from watching the tech section back then and today. Thats why I made that modeval site on my page, telling about every mod I have done (which is a very good amount) and has part numbers and installtion instructions and basically any question that would come up about that mod i.e. if its good or not, was it worth it, yada yada. I try to tell people about it and I get lots of e-mails and IM's from people saying that the TBI board and my site help them out so much. I am really proud of this board and what it is capable of and I hope it stays on the net for a very long time.

some of my favorite quotes:

I do not blame stupid people for being stupid, what i do blame them for is for not asking smart people for advice. When ever my mom asks for help, i tell her, i'm the one who knows what he's doing, not you, don't question me, just do what i tell you to. if stupid people would just realize they were stupid, and consult a smart person for advice, before they went and did something stupid and got pregnant/got someone pregant, this ****hole of a world would be a lot better. - adam corola

Don't u need special tools for changing out ur gears and such? And how much do these tools or tool cost? Cause if its a 50-70 dollar tool, that ur only gonna use once, I think it would be better to just pay the 150.00 to have the posi and rear gears changed out by a pro. Just my 2 cents.

Good things, I like this post .
It's like a free "help desk."
Eric, where the heck did you get a price quote for $150 for gears and posi install? I paid a LOT more than that.

The performance transmission place I went to by the speedway quoted me that. I had people range from 150-1000.00!! So u just have to shop around.

This site, and especially the tbi board have saved me a lot of experimentation that would have cost big bucks. Very happy with my current combination and it's all due to you guys...
Thanks.
