I've never really thought about modding our stock '91 Firebird L03 until she tells me she wants the car to move faster.
I was thinking of putting the Edelbrock TBI intake on it and doing the ultimate TBI mods, along with a new set of World SSR Torquer heads. Probably throw in a Fastchip too if I can't get ahold of the tuning equipment. (Also a better aircleaner and 3" exhaust system with headers, but I was gonna do that anyway)
For a mostly daily-driver car, I don't want to get too crazy with it plus I can't break into the grocery/rent money either. Anyone think that these things will free up about 30hp?

Full exaust, and open element, and a tuneup will get you around 230hp. With just an open element, cold air open Formula hood, and rear exaust I say I have 190hp. Stock is 170hp. Cam, heads, single plane intake, chip, and tuning should get you over 260hp easy. Pablo got around 260hp with his super budget buildup.

those mods all together can give you 30+ hp easy. if you do headers with a good 3inch y-pipe it will add a nice beefy tone too.

Setup looks good to me. I would add a LT1 cam too while I was in that deep. How many miles are on that engine? Or are you planning a complete rebuild. I wouldn't do that much to the motor if its close to or over 100k.

I'm happy with my 'cheap mods' my car is one of the fastest 305s in the area.

Our L03 has just over 106K on it. Blows a little bit of smoke on cold startup, otherwise it's golden; and the car itself is near mint, too.
I was debating a cam swap myself, but if I make this thing too wild she won't want to drive it at all (women...)
Case in point, she's timid about driving my 1984 L69 T/A which has just external mods, and tries to avoid it all she can. I think the top swap would be just fine for her. I'll probably get into some better rear gears too (I HATE those stupid 2.73's)
Thanks for the input everyone!!
