nitrous on TBI

ok i was thinkin the other day about doing up some nitrous on my car until i can afford to buy a new crate motor and make power the real way.anyways i wanted to know if using a plate system for a carb would work on a TBI mounted onto a 4bbl manifold with an adapter plate.i saw the kit meant for TBI and its hella more expensive than a standard plate system, and i want to switch manifolds anyways.thanks for any feedback guys.

Hmmm, sounds like a good idea.
I'm interested in this too. Anybody tried it?

I've definitely heard of that type of unit being used on a TBI. I believe it worked good and computer stuff wasn't a big deal at all. I haven't clue how exactly it was done though so Check the power adder board.

It's a good idea and Taz...you don't know anything .
The only thing you're going to have to be careful is hood clearance. If you have a stock hood and go with a performance intake like the RPM, you won't fit a normal air cleaner. In fact I'll bet money it won't fit without some serious work. Even cutting the underbracing on the hood might not be enough. BUT, if you have a cowl hood then you'll have no problem.

My reason for thinking its a bad idea is that the plates bar won't have air surounding it to help it through. If you put it under a TBI there will be no air above it in the front and the back. Maybe it could puddle up and blow?

Joe what do you think? You should know. Would a carb plate be a bad idea?

joe,the only reason i dont want to go with the TBI setup is the price.ive seen it for around 600 bucks, and a standard plate system for only around 430.and that difference is a little less than one paycheck for me.i wrote NOS tech support and asked them this same question yesterday, and im waiting for a reply from them.but you guys seem to think its a good idea.keep the feedback comin'!!thanks to all.
