Braided fule line pics insode...

there are some pics of my fuel lines. i have been doing it for about the past 6 hours. what a pain in the BUTT those things are to put together.

anyways..i think it came out pretty well. i didnt do it the way that i planned, but i think that this works a little better. its really tough to get that braided line to fit the contours that you want it to. i have the return line going around the back of the distributor, which is definitley something i didnt plan to do, but i dont think it matters.

what do you guys think?

Please post the parts your ordered (part #s).

What size tubing did you run?
Also, What size fittings did yo use to connect to the TBI unit?

BTW, I thought that the line you have going around the distributor was your input line....guess I was wrong.

Looks sweet.

i didnt use aeroquip..i used Earls (holley's brand).

i used about 7 feet maybe? not sure. i bought a 10 foot length of line and i have a few feet left.

it was expensive...about 190 bucks including everything.

i will be doing a little web page how to thing for it pretty soon...i will put all of the part numbers and everything on there, including the price break down.

oh..if you didnt want to do the fuel pressure gauge it will be a lot cheaper. you could probably save about 35-40 bucks.

some of the reasons it was kinda expensive..

- fuel pressure gauge
- holley charged me 36 bucks for the two fittings for the throttle body to go to 6AN threads. check out my other post for more info about that.
- the two "curved" fitting were about 18 bucks a piece.
- 10 feet of line was 52 bucks

stay tuned for the page on the install..

how much whats syuff weighs? the fuel line and the fittings? the fittings are literally probably less than an ounce. they are made of aluminum and you seriously cant tell they weigh anything when you hold onto them, they are so light.

and the fuel line isnt heavy either. let me put it this way..the package that they sent me only weighed 4.6 pounds, and that is with a steel bracket that i ordered. so i am guessing that it all weighs less than 3 pounds.

how thick are the lines, I have a box full of braided hoses for hotwater heaters, etc. Would those work, or would i need something stronger. That is a nice setup.

Looks nice, I need to do that to my car one day, but I would suggest you move that one hose a little forward that has the fuel pressure gauge on it, it looks like it's rubbing on the throttle cable bracket and it could wear through that aluminum fitting over time. I've seen that happen before.

Looks sweet.

But why did you run the lines in the stock direction like that? I mean across the top of the intake. You're catching all the heat coming off the engine in your fuel lines still. Just a thought.

It does look REALLY sweet though.

about the rubbing on the throttle bracket..

they arent really done yet. i still have to route exactly where i want them and finsh up a few things. by the time everything is done though, it will definitely be clear of the throttle bracket.

about the routing question..

there isnt a lot or room to play around with when routing teh lines. it was a pain in teh butt to get them where they are. it made a lot more sense functionally and looked a lot better routing them where i did. i realize that the intake will heat the fuel up..but i dont think it will make a huge difference. i wanted to keep the steel lines going from the tank up to the drivers side fenderwell, and the lines (the way i have them) hooked up a lot better if i just ran them in the stock locations. when i get them finished i will post the pics of everything routed the way i have in mind. i am just waiting for some damn fittings from jegs that are on backorder.

and..i kinda wanted them to be obvious, so i routed them the way i did. i could have hidden them kinda behind the brake booster, but i figured since i spent like 180 bucks or whatever that i wanted them to be seen. and i liked the placement of the fuel pressure gauge this way.
