just do both at the same time. if you are plaaning to do this with the heads on the car you ar gonna need an air compressor to pressurize the cyls. it is an easy job, it just takes a whilke to do.

Lt1 or Lt4 springs would work great.

I've put on about 5000 miles since my cam swap, probably hit 6000rpm at least 100 times.Still running my stock springs with no trouble.I guess if I was going to change valve seals I would change the springs also.Otherwise I myself wouldn't worry about it.

its really good to know somebody has the same question i do, i havent had my car on the road yet with my LT1 cam, i called Jim Pace GM performance in northern ohio, and they said our stock springs will handle the LT1 cams lift specs, now i was under the impression that more lift would mean more spring pressure, but if what your tellingis true about reving out your engine and have 5000miles on the cam, i guess our springs can survive, and also valve seal are so easy to do, and summit carries a spring set for $57 if you dont feel safe using stock springs, im going replace my rocker arm with roller tip 1.5 ratio, spring for new push rods also, also one other question whats Redline point on the LT1 cam, if someone with the answer can e-mail me i'd apreciate it, my e-mail is Londonafermid21@aol.com thanks!!!

What is everyone doing about lifters when they do the lt1 swap?

When I did my Lt1 swap I went ahead and replaced my lifters with some from AutoZone.

Your stock lifters are reusuable, provided they're in good shape. Roller lifters dont wear out like flat tappet lifters.

My lifters looked fine so I reused them .By the way, while the cam did help increase power,it didn't add as much as I thought it might.I think this is because I'm still running the swirl port heads.I plan on going to vortecs some day,but they will be sitting on a 383 crate motor. My biggest power increase came from full exaust mods.
