OPEN ELEMENT HELP!!!
After reading and picking up knowledge on installing the open element I finally decided to buy it.I have most of the step done except I dont know how to remove the IAT sensor without breaking it.Anyone got some input on how they did it.How much is an IAT sensor in pep boys or the discount auto parts?Thanxs

The IAT is easy to get out. Get a flat head screw driver and push in on the little metal teeth holding it in. The teeth are on the top side of the base. Once you push them in the thing should wiggle right out.
Well after trying I broke the IAT but got a repolacement from autozone.I put it on the firewall with some tape for now.I ran the car and it runs good.I did the open element for the space that it gives you.I want to eliminate the smog and heater hoses from the engine bay.I live in miami and it dont get that cold here.I have one more question. The bottom of the element touched the throttle cable alittle. How can I fix this.
did you get a drop base one? such as the underneath of it is kind recessed and sits low?

Personally, I wouldn't remove the heater hoses. I know you live in a very warm climate area, however I spent this past Memorial Day weekend and another week in Aug in your area (Ft. Lauderdale) and with the humitity down there, I had to use the defroster a few times to clear the winshield from fog. You could use the A/C to do the same thing, but if you have NEITHER, there will be those hot, sticky nights that you wish you didn't remove those hoses!
Just a thought to think about.
