good price but the stock air cleaner snorkel is very small. You'd get a better effect with a bigger air cleaner or maybe cutting the snorkel off so the opening is higher (since its a conical shape)

It is a waste of money!! I have found some thing similar to what they sell at a home center near my house. The air intake they have is similar to the one I found for about 4$ that is used to evacuate air from a tiolet. And the tubing for 3 or 4" tubing is very cheap too. I would go to a Home Depot or somthing like that and look around for somthing instead of wasting those 60$.

If you want ram-air Get a dual snorkle intake from a junkyard, and run both sides. That will be all the air you will ever need.

I myself will be going Cowl-Air soon. Got an extra hood, and a hood scoop to cut and fit on.

you will definitley be better off as far as your wallet is concerned to make your own. it may look a little funny, but it will be cheaper...a LOT cheaper. and, you can do it any way you want, which is often better.

let's see, hmmmm. $59 for a "kit" or $10 and a trip to home depot? well, i'm stumped, which could possibly be the better deal?
all of these kits are the same. over priced, and made for someoen soo lazy they won't even take a trip to the local hardware store.
big time rip off!

Yeah I would say screw the West Performance kit. I mean it looks good n all but seriously you can make one your self. KZAD and me made one for his 88 Formula and I think we spent about 6 bucks. But why even bother I say go Open Air. Both KZAD and me had a form or ram air on our cars and we both did the switch I notice a better respose with the Open Air.

This was talked about before in the product review board (where this post is headed in a few). We talked about the high price and he lowered it to $60 after we got on his case. All in all I think it's a good kit for a normal car and somebody that doesn't want to do lots of custom fabrication. Of course it would be cheaper to make your own but it would also be cheaper to make youre own hood. Or make your own open element out of some aluminum, or make your own boxed LCA and panhard bars....but some people don't have the time. If you're making 20 an hour at a job right now then think of 3 hours and you'll have the kit and only spend 10 minutes installing it. If you had to go to homedepot and look for all the parts you still won't have as nice a looking product as this kit. The trade off is that I like to do my own work, hence my crazy stereo system install. I did however buy the boxed LCA and panhard from SLP because they took the parts, made it and sold it for a nice price.
I agree with you guys, definatly an easy do it yourself project but for some of the new guys it might be a nice x-mas gift or what have you.
