Re: JUST ORDERD FLASH EBL

The EBL is by far the best mod I've done to my truck. I wouldn't have started my engine swap/truck project without it. Tuning is so easy it's like your're cheating...!!!

Anyway, works great. Escpecially the no chip part!! I have a USB cable routed up into the console of my truck and that's it. Just plug in a go!

The EBL Flash is actually serial output. There is a MAX232 on board for true serial levels and flawless data logging/flashing. The serial cable is included with the EBL.

If your laptop doesn't have a serial port there are inexpensive serial-to-USB convertors on the market that work. If a serial-to-USB cable is required it is up to the user to provide it.

Just the EBL Flash, a laptop, and a BIN editor (such as WinBIN or TunerPro), WB is optional. The EBL Flash gets it's name from having a Flash chip on-board. The updating or programming of the BIN is integrated into the What's Up Display. It uses the same cable as the WUD data logs with. Flash is non-volatile so no need for on-board battery's or such.

Basically have the data logging cable (included) connected to your laptop, WUD running, select the flash display screen on the WUD, give it the BIN name, which bank (holds up to 8 calibrations), and press the apply button. With a verify it takes about 1.5 seconds to program a new BIN.

Re: JUST ORDERD FLASH EBL

Well, this my completed conversion (2007-08-31) to FLASH EBL. Original ECM was a lowly 16136965 from LO3 91 Caprice. 6965 was chosen over 7747 because it has IAT input. Will try it tonight - next week.

Re: JUST ORDERD FLASH EBL

Well, I too, have acquired an EBL flash.
Rbob already knows this.
The only thing I have to add, is that I believe it's SEVERELY underpriced.
That, of course, is just me.
