Re: Spraying my L03

first off with your tbi system it does not adjust the fuel for you so you MUST use a wet kit. you can buy the dry kit and add a line with a solenoid and add on to the dry and wire it together if you know what youre doing and make it work. i currently am running a 125 shot which i have run many many times with no issues at all. i have previously run a 150 without problems for a whole year too. a few things to keep in mind are you will have to pull the timing you advanced youll be fine at 0 degrees and add 1-2 step colder plugs which you should be fine with 1 step and use a smaller gap on them. just make sure you tune the jets correctly and be safe making sure your fuel pump can keep up. also look around because for 300 you can probably get a new wet kit. there are plate kits which are easier to install or you can get nozzles and do what i believe his user name is sp63 did just search his name. plate kits are much easier to do but in the end will cost more.

Re: Spraying my L03

just retard the timing for when youre going to spray unless you have a timing box puller that pulls it when the nitrous is activated. if not just set it back at 0. any fuel pressure is fine youll just have to tune the fuel jet to the fuel pressure youre running.

Re: Spraying my L03

i just saw this now that you have a t-5 in that case youll either need a push button to activate or a window switch so you dont spray while shifting. BTW be careful with that tranny dont know how long until the nitrous kills it.

Re: Spraying my L03

I hate insurance companies. 1000 will not cover your car. U can't even pick up a decent running 6cylinder for that. Let me guess some salvage owns your car now, that thing will pe parted out so fast. Insurance is the fleecing of america.

Re: Spraying my L03

Why not step up to the 305 TPI 5 spd? The TPI engine is a much better starting point to make some power with, since it has a much better induction system, and better heads.

Re: Spraying my L03

starting with an Iroc with tpi 305 would be better performer, also most Iroc have posi right so you'd have everything you want except the tbi reliabilty. Dont get me wrong TPI is great but TBI is more simple. There is an awesome 89 Iroc w/ T-5 305 down the street, beautiful but I can't have her.

And the price of parts is unreal, and when you want to go above 5000rpms, you have to spend $2k on a new intake system, because the harmonic tuning in TPI works against itself, and the long runners are not conducive to real HP, they only give the appearance of it. For under $1k into my car, I will out-run 350 TPI's all day wrong.

Way to go with the sound advice. Did you misread the forum name here?

My advice, from building several of these cars, from several diffrent starting points. Sit down, and really lay out what it is you want from the car, set specific goals, talk with people who have accomplished those goals, and look at what they are running. Base you car descision on that. If you are going to be doing a whole new computer system, and a new engine, and new induction, it makes no sense to pay the premium for a TPI car, heck you may be better off finding a LG4 car for cheap.
