Re: TBI tune in NJ

Or you could spend a few nights learning to do it yourself and spend less than you would on an aftermarket chip for the equipment.

Check out the "come in for a free tune" thread at the top of the forum. If you can figure out how to burn the chip I'll give you my best guess as to what your truck needs. It'll be at least as good as TBIchips.....which ain't that great.

Re: TBI tune in NJ

Back when i had my camaro I was thinking of doing this for my LO3 but honestly I dont have the patients or the time to do it. Woulda ya be willing to burn me a chip if I threw you my cam specs and everything? I know its not the right way to do it but who knows it could improve.

I mean is it honestly not worth it? The truck runs really good its just that I have this idea in my head it could run better because of everything I studied about my old LO3 and doing heads/cams.

I'm doing this in hopes to smooth my truck out in first gear when its cold and get a few more MPG's.

Re: TBI tune in NJ

Your just going to have to bite the bullet and tune it Im afraid. Its really the only way to get your truck running good. Mail order proms and a single session of tuning wont be enough. It usually takes about 6 months of short tuning sessions to get teh tune good for year around use.

Re: TBI tune in NJ

Hmmm I'm gonna start looking back into what it takes then. I remember reading it over two years ago but I'll read it up again seeing as how I'm 3 years older now...

Re: TBI tune in NJ

No, 3 years ago you were a tuning expert and couldn't understand why the rest of us weren't using bigger cams because it was so easy to tune around.

Did you ever blow that motor up?
