can't romp on it....

My 92RS TBI(305) idles fine. I start it up and runs fine. I can drive it down the road, slowley accelerating. When I mash on the gas she starts acting likes she wants to die out. When I ler go of the pedal she goes back to normal. My timing is on, my plugs and wires are new, new distributor new cap, rotor. New tps, Iac, new 02 sensor. Any ideas. Fuel pressure is good. It's like the car is flooding out.

I'm having the same prob right now. I have this also posted in the gen. tech/engine forum and had a couple replies. One said the timing may be retarded (which you said you checked), and the other said the Ignition control module. I'm posting from work so I haven't tried either one yet.

Try replacing your fuel filter. I had the same problem at one time and that was the culprit.

Re: can't romp on it....

Im having the same problem right now too. Except mine happens alot when it rains. I tried replacing the coolant temp sensor, and I sanded the rust off of the little nubs on top of the distributor cap. So far today, it seems to be running better. But it usually runs good, and just picks certain days to act up. Almost left me stranded yesterday in the pouring rain. Wouldnt idle, wouldnt take any load under power even to slip the clutch at all. I pulled the vacuum hose for the MAP sensor, and it idled for a few seconds then smoothed out enough to drive home (albeit very slowly) but at least it hasnt left me stranded yet.

Re: can't romp on it....

Several years ago I had the same problem I was driving down the road went across some rr tracks when i accelerated all at once my car fell on its face and back fired. A buddy of mine runs a shop and and he kept the car for three days every day he went to work he took it out drove it and never got it to duplicate the problem. He suggested changing the ignition module to sse if that would fix it, and knock on wood she hasnt missed a lick since.

Have you checked for a vacuum leak?

Yeah, do that.

Also consider replacing your EGR.
