TBI on an LB9?

Out of curiosity (I've been hearing people whinging about TBI lately), does anyone know if anyone has ever put a tbi system onto an LB9?

I'd be curious how an LB9 with TPI would compare to an LB9 with TBI.

I tried to do a search, but most of hte terms are so common it's hard to get a good signal to noise ratio.

You're talking about swapping just the induction system, and leaving the heads and cam alone?

Re: TBI on an LB9?

I bet with a proper tune nobody would be able to tell the difference. Hell it might even pull to a higher RPM.

Re: TBI on an LB9?

how does it perform ... when it had 373 gears it could leave a 305 TBI car without even trying it runs very close to my friends 1990 6 speed corvette .... but that was when it had 373 gears it now has 3.08 gears but still pulls real strong. I hear 3.1 v-6 guys talking the talk so I was fortunate to race one he had a automatic the car was a 91-92. this is after I put 3.08's in my car he got me out of the hole at take off buy maybe 1/2 a car, after the end of the intersection my car just wasted the V-6 .... Keep in mind though mine is not a 305 so I couldn't tell you how a LB-9 tbi would run against a stock LO-3 .... Just get a L-98 and throw LO-3 stuff on it you will be very happy! oh and use at least 305 TPI full exhaust sytem too.

Re: TBI on an LB9?

A TPI 305 with a TBI intake is probably 90% identical to a TBI 305 with an LT1 cam in it. The TPI heads flow like 5 cfm better, and the LT1 cam has about .020-030" more lift. The TBI computer should be able to handle the TPI camshaft with little to no problems.
