did tune up, runs worse now HELP

ok so i did a tune up, blue streak cap and rotor, accel wires, boush plat plugs, my coil is still strong, its an MSD, anyway reason for tune up was plugs were worn to heck and back, car ran, but was weak, fired on all 8 and was smooth, now it acts as if it had a miss, its rough, you can hear a miss in the exhaust note at idle, can smell raw fuel in exhaust (no cat). i all ready removed each wire one by one to try to see what # was missing and 8 seemed to me weak but it was fireing, the rest seemed to be ok, yea all the wire are correct, i checked, checked, and checked again, had a friend check again, hooked up according to the book and how it was removed, i have spark down each wire, as i hooked up my timing light pickup to each wire and it flashes on every wire, the timing is ok, it dont seem to jump timing at idle....... how much should a vaccum gauge flutter if i have a miss? like i said before the tune up it was hitting on all 8, after tune up seems to have a miss or something totaly messed up......im out of ideas, need some help lol its really making me mad now, was better off with it the way it was LOL

it says to gap at .35, shoud i gap more or less and if so to what, since i got a MSD coil.

so any help, ideas to make it run on all 8 agian (other than putting the old crap in LOL) thanks guys!!

sounds like one of the wires is backwards. but you already checked them over and over again. i know my plugs are gapped to .50. could you have gotten a bad plug? have you tried pulling the plug out, and hooking it up, and actually watch it spark?

i agree the bosch plugs are not the best chioce for these cars mine responded well to delco rapid fire plugs they are a tad expensive but i personally would never run anything but in my cars also check to make shure you dont have any vacuum leaks i made one on my car after doing a tune up and had the same problem a while ago

Bosch plugs is your problem. The only thing Bosch makes that is worth a damn is diesel injection parts.

I really never noticed any differant when I ran delcos or bosch or delco platinum.I believe a good plug properly gapped is enough, but I never experienced any of the horror stories about bosch or other aftermarket type plugs. You prolly accidently knoked something loose when you were doing the work.

I agree, it sounds like you have a couple of wires backwards.

I also agree that you should switch to some delcos. Some engines just don't like the fancy plugs.

Naw run the regular gap....I thinks it's .035. I have an MSD coil and car runs great with the regular gap.

Re: did tune up, runs worse now HELP

well i threw out the boushs and went and got delco rapid fires as kaddiekid1 suggested and it runs alot better, but on the down side i cracked the vac line to the MAP so i need to go get some new line tomorow, no big deal, but it made me mad at first when i started it up and all it did was sputter and blow out black smoke, what was even worse than the boushs , but i soon found i cracked that line, and after a little ghetto fixin it ran good, my dieletric greese can lost all it propelent so i got to go get a new one and put on the boots of the wires for insurance, any of you guys ever put any dieletric on the inside of the dist cap (ie the button and the contacts inside).

im going to do another post, but when i noticed the vac going to the MAP was cracked (it goes on the back port of the TBI according to under hood and manual pics) but as for the port that is in the intake itself, one goes to the cruise and the other goes where?!?!?! to the HVAC to control the dampner that controls if the air is going to the floor , panel, or defrost or does it go somewhere else and if so where does the HVAC vac line go to (not the heater valve on the heater line under the hood i got that one under control lol)

by the way, why cant you say red neck in one word, i had to use ghetto what seems to be more offensive than red neck, it just put 7*'s up for it, heck i admit im red neck LOL its not a vulgur term at all, it not like the term people use for balcks around the south
